In the Red Centre of Australia you find The Olgas or
Kata Tjuta which means place of many heads.
These are a group of 28 rounded hills resembling domes, 27 km west of Uluru. Mt. Olga itself
rises 545.4 m above the surrounding plain, so it is actually higher (197.3 m higher) than Uluru.
Like Uluru the Olgas are made of sedimentary rock conglomerate, with iron oxide impurities. |
